RTÉ board is likely to approve a salary increase for RTÉ director general Kevin Bakhurst. Kieran Cuddihy will be paid just under €230,000 to present Liveline five days a week in a primetime slot on RTÉ Radio One. Negotiations resulted in a contract that makes Cuddihy an RTÉ staff member rather than a contractor. Other high-profile presenters such as Miriam O'Callaghan and Brendan O'Connor remain contractors. The new contract changes Cuddihy’s employment status and sets a specific annual compensation figure for his weekday hosting duties.
