The heaviest ground fighting occurred on the Pokrovsk front in Donetsk with 49 clashes. A strike near Sumy on September 12 killed three and injured five. Ukrainian forces have repelled advances in Sumy, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia, and Russian units in the border area have suffered heavy losses and lost offensive capability.
