Putin calls up 135,000 men for conscription as losses mount on the frontline - London Business News | Londonlovesbusiness.com
"Vladimir Putin has ordered 135,000 men to be called up for conscription between October and December 2025 in one of the largest call-ups in almost ten years. Men aged between 18 and 30 are being called up for routine conscription as battlefield losses continue to grow along the 1,000 kilometre front line. Since Putin's full-scale war against Ukraine started on 24 February 2022 more than 1.1million Russia n troops have been either killed in action or wounded."
"On Monday the German Defence Minster Boris Pistorius said that Putin does not want a ceasefire or peace. Pistorius said at the Warsaw Security Forum, "Diplomatic efforts fail to bring about any meaningful truce... Russia has even increased its attacks on Ukraine. "All of this leaves no doubt: Vladimir Putin does not want a ceasefire, and he does not want peace for Ukraine.""
One hundred thirty-five thousand men aged 18 to 30 will be conscripted between October and December 2025 as part of a large mobilization. Routine call-ups respond to mounting battlefield losses along a roughly 1,000 kilometre front. Since 24 February 2022 more than 1.1 million Russia n troops have been killed or wounded. Earlier in the year 160,000 men were conscripted, and in September the Russian military expanded to 1.5 million, making it one of the world’s largest. German Defence Minster Boris Pistorius stated that diplomatic efforts have failed and that Vladimir Putin does not want a ceasefire or peace.
