Briefly

A state trooper was injured in Revere when struck by a moped while responding to a crowd igniting illegal fireworks. Deshakraaun Abdullahmuhammud was arrested, facing multiple charges including assault with a dangerous weapon. State and Revere police responded to the incident shortly before 11 p.m., and mutual aid was requested as the crowd grew aggressive. In addition to Abdullahmuhammud, two more individuals were arrested for assault and battery. The injured trooper was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and no other officers were harmed.
Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, state and Revere police responded to a large crowd on Thornton Street, where people were igniting fireworks in the middle of the street.
Police requested mutual aid, including officers from Boston, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Saugus, Winthrop, and transit police, as the crowd grew and "became aggressive."
I would like to thank all of our law enforcement partners that sent officers to assist us in handling the large crowd last night so that we could maintain public safety.
