Polish air defenses engaged and deployed weapons to down drone-type objects after what officials described as an unprecedented violation of Polish airspace during Russian strikes on western Ukraine. Four airports in Poland, including Warsaw’s main airport, faced disruptions following an airspace closure. Large parts of western Ukraine near the Polish border remained under prolonged air raid alerts. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the situation seems to be under control and reported no casualties. Tusk reported a huge number of Russian drones violated Polish airspace and said Poland was consulting closely with NATO and allies.
