Pat Kenny, his wife Kathy and neighbouring residents prevailed in a long-running campaign to prevent construction of a five-storey, 104-unit nursing home in Dalkey, South Dublin. An Coimiúsin Pleanála (ACP) refused planning permission for the scheme proposed by Richard Barrett's Bartra Property (Dublin) Ltd. The proposed development was sited at Yonder, Ulverton Road and Harbour Road, on lands that directly border the Kenny family home. The refusal by the statutory planning appeals body ended the developer's bid to build the nursing home on those Dalkey lands.
