Manchán Magan was born in Donnybrook, Dublin, in 1970 and his family confirmed his death this morning. He produced and presented numerous acclaimed travel documentaries, many with his brother Ruán. He made several television documentaries on the Irish language, including No Béarla, in which he travelled around Ireland speaking only Irish. His latest programme was Listen to the Land Speak, where he referenced his illness and told viewers, "I'm on borrowed time." He was a newspaper columnist, presented programmes on RTÉ Radio 1, wrote books on the Irish language, and confirmed he had terminal prostate cancer while undergoing treatment.
