Over 20 men deported to Pakistan overnight
"Individuals, who are all Pakistani nationals, departed from Dublin Airport on a chartered flight at 7pm on Tuesday and arrived in Islamabad this morning. This marks the fourth operation this year since the recommencement of charter flights for deportations in February. Three charter flights this year have removed 106 people who received deportation orders, with yesterday's operation bringing this number to 130. Meanwhile, 132 deportation orders have been enforced on commercial flights, while 40 people are confirmed to have left the country unescorted so far this year."
""This year, sustained and significant work has been undertaken to strengthen immigration enforcement and increase the removal of people who have no legal right to be in Ireland," Mr O'Callaghan said. "We are seeing the results with a doubling of enforced deportations. 3,029 deportation orders have been issued so far in 2025. "This sends a clear message: if a person's application for international protection is refused and they are ordered to leave the State, they must do so. If they choose not to leave voluntarily, they will be forced to leave," he added. Minister O'Callaghan said Ireland "must hold firm on this principle", adding that deportations are an "essential part of any immigration system"."
