'One of life's special people': Councillor and children's entertainer dies
Briefly

Mark Reed, a Brentwood councillor since 2009, died at his home on July 5. He had a notable history in community service, serving as Brentwood mayor from 2015 to 2016 and chairing the business, community, and culture panel in 2011. Reed was also involved in local amateur dramatics and recently worked as a children's entertainer with Rocky's Animals. He was highly regarded for his contributions to the community and is remembered fondly by colleagues and friends for his caring nature and dedication to improving local areas.
Mark was a true community champion, confidant and friend. Whilst we all suffer a tremendous loss, Mark will be remembered for the love and light he brought to many lives.
This was the local community where he lived, and he was genuinely one of the most caring local councillors that could ever hope to meet.
We are still all very shocked at this news and our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and ward colleagues at this truly sad time.
He was one of the kindest and most passionate people I know, and since being on board with Rocky's Animals, it was great to see him thrive.
