Olympic champion Caster Semenya: 'It's never the end' DW 10/07/2025
""It's not about stopping, it's never the end," Semenya said. "They didn't understand what my legal team was saying. It's not the end, it's just the beginning of making sure that we fight the right cause. World Athletics is constantly changing its policies. With the new policies, we are forever fighting. We want to make sure that athletes are protected.""
""[The courts are] not necessarily over," Semenya added. "I'm still yet to decide if we still go on with the courts. I'm still waiting for my legal team to finalize everything.""
""not be taken further in the circumstances.""
Caster Semenya has denied reports that she is ending her legal challenge against World Athletics' sex eligibility rules and says legal efforts continue. The European Court of Human Rights granted a partial victory by finding a Swiss appeals court had not examined her case rigorously, leaving the possibility of further action. Semenya was born with a difference of sexual development, has XY chromosomes and higher testosterone, and previously refused hormone-suppressing drugs when rules required DSD athletes to lower testosterone. Semenya says her legal team is finalizing decisions and emphasizes protecting athletes amid changing policies.
