NYC man drowns in Cayuga Lake

Bo Soo "John" Choi, a 35-year-old man from Flushing, NYC, drowned in Cayuga Lake when his kayak capsized early Sunday. While his friend was rescued by bystanders, Choi could not reach shore as neither wore lifejackets. Emergency crews responded shortly after the accident but suspended the search for Choi overnight. They resumed the following morning and found his body about five hours later at a depth of approximately 70 feet, near Sheldrake Point in Ovid, New York.
