Temperatures could drop to about -4°C with sharp to severe frosts developing over the weekend. Status yellow snow and ice warnings apply to Donegal (8pm Friday–11am Saturday) and to Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Connacht and Louth (6pm Saturday–11am Sunday). A status yellow low temperature/ice warning covers Munster and several eastern and midland counties from 6pm Saturday to 11am Sunday. Daytime highs will range 2–6°C with overnight lows −2°C to 2°C, producing widespread frost and icy patches. Localised wintry showers and sleet may produce black ice and small snow accumulations. Major roads will be gritted; untreated minor roads may become treacherous.
