Met Eireann issues rain warning for three counties today as forecaster predicts 'wetter than average' weather conditions
"Met Éireann issued the warning for counties Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo from 10am today until 10am on Friday. There is potential for spells of heavy rain with a chance of isolated thunderstorms, Met Éireann said. It comes as the forecaster has predicted "frequent rain" for much of the country over the coming week. Low pressure will lead to unsettled weather with "wetter than average" conditions over the next 10 days, according to the national forecaster's long-term forecast."
"This morning is starting off quite cool and breezy as a mix of sunny spells and isolated showers spread. Temperatures will reach highs of 16C. Tonight will be similar as dry and damp spells are expected, though heaviest downpours will be along the Atlantic coast with temperatures of between 7C and 10C. Tomorrow will be another comparatively cool day with some heavy showers possible in places."
"On Saturday, there will be another mix of sun and rain, though rain is predicted to die out over the afternoon and evening, temperatures reaching a maximum of 16C. By night, wetter conditions will reform as clouds thicken from the west, bringing rain to the southwest with lowest temperatures of 7C to 10C. The morning on Sunday will bring more rain which will spread northeastwards, becoming heavy at times before clearing in the afternoon with sun and showers following."
Low pressure will bring unsettled, wetter-than-average conditions across Ireland for the next ten days, with frequent rain and occasional thunderstorms. Met Éireann has issued a warning for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo from 10am today until 10am Friday for potential heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms. Today will be cool and breezy with sunny spells and isolated showers and highs near 16C. Nights will be cool with the heaviest downpours along the Atlantic coast and lows of 7–10C. Rain will increase through the week with a mix of sun and showers; daytime highs generally 13–16C, with Sunday up to 15–18C.
