"In a statement, gardaí said: "The Offices of the Coroner and the State Pathologist have been notified. "A male, aged in his 30s, has been arrested and is currently detained at a station in the Garda North West Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. "Investigations are ongoing." Gardaí say they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the investigation. The bodies of the three people remain at the scene."
Three adults — two men and a woman — were found dead in the Annaghminnan/Drumgowna area near Tallanstown, Co Louth. The three deceased are members of the same family. Initial indications are that the victims died violently. Garda units including an Armed Response Unit attended the scene. Gardaí arrested a man in his thirties at around 10am and he is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, with medical assistance being sought for him. The Offices of the Coroner and the State Pathologist have been notified. The bodies remain at the scene and Gardaí are not seeking anyone else.
