'Mad youngsters full of bravado and daredevil behaviour' - Grace Lynch funeral hears priest's urge for action on scrambler bikes
""so laid back that she was almost horizontal""
""Those motorbikes racing around our community are dangerous,""
""But it's not just the motorbikes - those driving around one-scooters at present in black clothes without lights and no high-vis jackets will kill and will be killed.""
Grace Lynch, 16, died after being struck by a scrambler on Ratoath Road in Finglas at about 2:20pm after stepping onto a pedestrian crossing on a green light. She was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where she later died from her injuries. At St Oliver Plunkett's Church mourners placed a jewellery box, a school jumper and a self-portrait at the altar in her memory. Parents Siobhán and Martin recalled her as laid-back and laughing at videos on an iPad. Granny Dolores described her as always having time for everyone and never condemning. Concerns were raised about dangerous scrambler bikes and e-scooters, and a plea was made for a single, simple change to prevent further deaths.
