Kate Gosselin Opens Up About Losing a 7th Baby While Pregnant with Sextuplets, Reveals Planned Name
"A lot of people were asking, 'At what point did you lose that baby?'"
"We had our first ultrasound at six weeks and there were seven babies. I think they had us come back the next week - it was either the next week, or two weeks, I can't honestly remember - to see how they had progressed."
"I started bleeding, and I ended up in the emergency room again, and they did an ultrasound. I explained to them I was pregnant with six babies, used to be seven, and they did an ultrasound."
Kate Gosselin recounted her birth journey on TikTok, describing infertility struggles and the births of her eight children, including twins Mady and Cara and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel. A first ultrasound at six weeks showed seven embryos, but one stopped growing between appointments. She experienced pregnancy complications including kidney stones, ovarian hyperstimulation and episodes of bleeding that required emergency care. During an ER ultrasound she waited anxiously and feared the worst. The pregnancy ultimately proceeded with six babies after the loss of the seventh embryo.
