Kerry District Court Judge David Waters has ruled against granting a 3am exemption for 14 pubs in Killorglin during the Puck Fair festival. This decision concludes a tradition that has persisted since the 1970s. The exemption application sought permission for late night openings on two of the three festival dates, which will take place from August 10 until 12 this year. Publicans are planning to appeal the ruling to the Circuit Court.
