Fianna Fáil's parliamentary party held a vote to choose its presidential candidate between former All-Ireland-winning Dublin football manager Jim Gavin and Ireland South MEP Billy Kelleher. Jim Gavin won the nomination by 41 votes to 29 at a special meeting in Leinster House. The nomination makes Gavin the party's candidate for next month's presidential election.
