Aoife O'Rourke captured World gold in the 75kg division with a unanimous 5-0 victory over Turkey's Busra Isildar. The Castlerea Olympian added the title to an IBA World silver from March and four European medals, marking an illustrious amateur career. O'Rourke reached the final by defeating Monika Langerova, Sunniva Hofstad, and 2023 World champion Chengyu Wang. She imposed relentless pressure that neutralised Isildar's quick footwork and sustained intensity throughout the bout. The 28-year-old reacted emotionally when crowned champion and credited a team of coaches, staff and physios for supporting the process.
