Irish jockey Declan Queally makes allegation of racial abuse against Nico de Boinville after row before Cheltenham race
"I was boxing for my position down the inside and there was a lot of general bunching going on. It was competitive down there and I got repeated racial abuse from Nico de Boinville when I was coming in around the corner and then he called me a f*****g p***k a couple of times in front of the ITV camera."
"Being abused by an English rider, Nico de Boinville is not very nice. I'm an amateur, I'm coming over riding in front of my kids. HORRIFIC."
During the Turners Novices' Hurdle, a 21-runner race, jockeys Nico de Boinville and Declan Queally became involved in a heated incident at the start as runners jostled for position. De Boinville, riding Act Of Innocence, shouted at Queally on I'll Sort That and maneuvered to take the rail position. Queally alleged he received repeated racial abuse and profane insults from de Boinville during the competitive scramble. Queally chose not to respond verbally and finished fifth, while de Boinville finished second, beaten two and a half lengths. The incident was captured on live television and subsequently highlighted on social media.
