Dean Teeling, 36, of Coultry Drive, Ballymun, Dublin will serve an additional six-year sentence for a jailhouse stabbing and a separate city centre knife attack. During the Mountjoy prison attack on 18 December 2018, Teeling repeatedly stabbed Shane Fay in the back. Teeling pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to violent disorder and assault causing harm. The guilty pleas and the violent nature of the prison incident formed the basis for the extended sentence covering both the jailhouse stabbing and the unrelated city centre knife incident.
