Donohoe stated that he never had any ambition to become taoiseach during his lengthy political career. Donohoe will vacate his ministerial position to take up a role as managing director and chief knowledge officer at the World Bank in Washington DC. Donohoe represents Dublin Central as a Fine Gael TD and served as finance minister prior to accepting the World Bank appointment.
