"Last week, the hotel's leaseholder, Trinity Hospitality, sought a court injunction "to reduce excessive noise transfer from Yamamori Izakaya into the hotel". It sparked a protest outside the hotel on Monday by protesters concerned about a drop in the number of late-night venues. The Hoxton Hotel, which neighbours Yamamori Izakaya, a Japanese restaurant that holds music events, claims it has been forced to close around a quarter of its rooms because of "numerous guest complaints about late-night, low-frequency music noise and vibration"."
"In statement issued on Friday afternoon, a spokesperson for the newly-opened hotel said it has "chosen not to comment publicly until now". "As The Hoxton, we have chosen not to comment publicly until now, while the initial court proceedings between Trinity Hospitality and Yamamori Izakaya were underway, out of respect for that process," the statement said. "With the case now adjourned with the consent of both parties to allow time for further engagement, we feel it's important to clarify where we stand," they said."
"They described the nightclub as an "important part of Dublin's nightlife and cultural fabric for years", adding that it is "one of the many independent businesses that give this part of town its buzz". "As a brand, the Hoxton has a track record of actively supporting creative communities and neighbouring businesses for the past 20 years, in each of the cities we call home. Our plan for Dublin is no different. It is central to who we are," the hotel said."
The Hoxton Hotel alleges that low‑frequency music noise and vibration from neighbouring Yamamori Izakaya have generated numerous guest complaints and forced closure of roughly a quarter of rooms. Trinity Hospitality, the hotel's leaseholder, sought a court injunction to reduce excessive noise transfer. That legal step prompted a protest by people concerned about dwindling late‑night venues. The hotel initially withheld public comment during court proceedings but now states it does not wish to see Yamamori Izakaya close or nightlife curtailed. The hotel describes the venue as integral to local nightlife and expresses hope that Trinity Hospitality and Yamamori Izakaya will collaborate toward constructive solutions.
