Eva Schloss, 96, died after a lifetime of Holocaust education and public testimony. Austrian-born, she survived Auschwitz and was the stepsister of Anne Frank. She served as honorary president of the Anne Frank Trust UK and dedicated her life to educating people about the risks of intolerance and prejudice. Schloss and her mother Fritzi were deported to Auschwitz when she was 15; her father Erich and brother Heinz did not survive while she and Fritzi did and later reunited after the war. Tributes poured in from public figures and royalty, and her family hopes her legacy will continue to inspire through books, films and resources.
