Google Cloud will provide NATO's Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) with an air-gapped Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) environment for workloads that require strict data residency and security controls. The multimillion-pound contract will bolster NCIA's digital infrastructure and support the Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC) in modernising operations and handling classified workloads. The arrangement aims to strengthen data governance while enabling access to cloud and artificial intelligence capabilities.
