European shares opened lower despite a broad Asian advance driven by a rebound on Wall Street. Upbeat U.S. economic updates and a steady flow of quarterly reports helped offset concerns about soaring Big Tech valuations, but optimism did not translate to European markets. Germany's DAX fell 0.2% to 24,003.24, France's CAC 40 dropped 0.5% to 8,033.11 and Britain's FTSE 100 slipped 0.2% to 9,761.18. S&P futures were virtually unchanged while Dow futures lost 0.1%. In Asia, the Nikkei jumped 1.3%, the Kospi and Taiex rose, the Hang Seng climbed 2.1%, IPO debuts for Pony.ai and WeRide fell, and Nissan reported a large loss with revenue down.
