"Syrian national Issa Al H.*, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a German court on Wednesday. The 27-year old was handed the maximum sentence for three counts of murder, among other charges, as the Dusseldorf Regional Court recognized the particular severity of his crimes. The trial began on May 27, and at its opening Issa Al H. told the court through his lawyer that he bore "heavy blame" and had "killed innocent people," and thus deserved and expected a life sentence."
