"Gardaí in Galway have shut down an illegal TV streaming service which supplied hundreds of users in a raid of a home today. The operation, targeting illegal TV streaming services and money laundering offences, saw a house searched in Rahoon, Galway City on Friday by members of the Galway County West Crime Unit, the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau."
"A number of electronic devices were seized by Gardaí and almost 200 accounts believed to be linked to an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) streaming service were shut down, gardaí said. "No arrests have been made at this time. A file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions," a garda spokesperson said. Today's activity primarily targeted the streaming of SKY TV's products illegally."
Gardaí in Galway executed a raid on a home in Rahoon, Galway City focused on illegal TV streaming services and alleged money laundering. Members of the Galway County West Crime Unit, the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau carried out the search. A number of electronic devices were seized and almost 200 accounts linked to an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) streaming service were shut down. The operation primarily targeted illegal streaming of SKY TV products. No arrests have been made so far. A file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
