Both a father and his 12-year-old son were found dead at separate properties in Dublin. The child, Oisin O'Reilly, was discovered in his bed in Clondalkin and is believed to have lain dead for a number of hours before being found on Thursday morning. Medical investigators concluded Oisin died by asphyxiation at some time on Wednesday night or shortly after midnight on Thursday. Wayne O'Reilly was detained under the Mental Health Act in relation to the incident. Gardaí state they are not seeking anyone else. The child was not in State care, though the family was known to Tusla.
