Violet Anne Wynne, a former independent Clare TD, stated in court that she has been repaying a residual debt of €6,500 to an ex-employee. She appeared at Ennis District Court and spoke to Judge Alec Gabbett. She identified herself as a mother of six. She said the repayments were not made arbitrarily or whenever she chose. She said she was making repayments with whatever little income she had available. She emphasized constrained personal finances as the reason for the gradual settlement of the outstanding obligation.
