Eugene Breslin, aged 45 and a former Sinn Féin representative, is charged in connection with a €4 million cocaine seizure at stables in Kildare. Gardaí allege that Breslin attempted to run from officers and hide in a barn when they moved to arrest him. A co-defendant, Stephen Doyle, aged 33, was also arrested in the operation. Both men were detained on Wednesday during an operation by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB). Both defendants appeared before a late sitting of Naas District Court on Friday evening.
