The European Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting a fraud investigation targeting the European External Action Service and the College of Europe related to an EU-funded training course for diplomats, the European Union Diplomatic Academy. Police are investigating whether the 2021-2022 tender process unduly favored the school. Mogherini denies wrongdoing and is cooperating with authorities. Two other suspects, including the College's deputy rector and former EEAS secretary general Stefano Sannino, were questioned and formally notified of the accusations.
