The EU has suspended payments to Israel and proposed sanctions targeting "extremist" Israeli ministers after an Israeli strike in Qatar that drew condemnation from China and Russia. Qatar said it has hosted a Hamas office since 2012 at the behest of the United States and Israel and called Netanyahu's comparison to the US response after September 11 a desperate attempt to justify a crime. Qatar warned it will reassess its mediation role in Gaza ceasefire efforts. Yemen's Houthi rebels said Israel was striking Sanaa, and Israeli officials said Israel would continue to target enemies everywhere.
