Enoch Burke arrived outside Wilson's School in Co Westmeath less than 24 hours after his release from prison and attempted to enter despite a court order. Security prevented him from entering the grounds while a small group of supporters accompanied him and he said he had a "duty" to attend. Burke was suspended and dismissed in 2022 after confronting a head teacher about refusing to use a trans student's name and pronouns. He has been arrested multiple times, spent over 500 days in jail, and accrued around €225,000 in fines. High Court judge Justice Cregan described Burke's repeated breaches as a "deliberate, sustained, and concerted attack" on the authority of civil courts and called him a "baleful and malign presence" and an "intruder, stalking the school, its teachers, and its pupils." The judge said he was released for "one reason and one reason only, interest in the administration of justice."
