Dublin county board made aware of players' plans to protest against Allianz sponsorship
"Dublin county board chiefs have been made aware of their footballers and hurlers' decision to protest at Allianz's continued sponsorship of the National Leagues."
"Ger Brennan's first league game in charge of the footballers is the clash with Donegal, last year's beaten All-Ireland finalists, at Croke Park on Saturday night. Niall Ó Ceallacháin's hurlers get their campaign under way against Clare in Ennis the following afternoon."
Dublin county board chiefs have been informed that both the footballers and hurlers will protest Allianz's continued sponsorship of the National Leagues. The footballers will begin their league campaign under new manager Ger Brennan with a match against Donegal at Croke Park on Saturday night. Donegal were the beaten All-Ireland finalists last year. The Dublin hurlers, managed by Niall Ó Ceallacháin, will start their National League campaign the following afternoon with an away fixture against Clare in Ennis. The protest coincides with the opening weekend of both Dublin teams' league schedules.
