Loughrea remained competitive in the first half after Darren Shaughnessy's 26th-minute goal left the score 0-12 to 1-8 at halftime. Ballygunner seized control after the break when Mikey Mahony scored in the 35th minute. Pauric Mahony contributed 0-8 (6f) and Kevin Mahony added 0-4 as the Mahony brothers led the attack. Goalkeeper Stephen O'Keeffe produced several crucial saves and earned man-of-the-match honors as Ballygunner closed out a comprehensive victory.
