Denmark PM: Drone incident at Copenhagen Airport an 'attack' DW 09/22/2025
"the most serious attack on Danish critical infrastructure to date,"
"This says something about the times we live in and what we as a society must be prepared for,"
"We have concluded that this was what we would call a capable operator,"
"It's an actor who has the capabilities, the will and the tools to show off in this way,"
Copenhagen Airport halted operations after multiple large drones were spotted in the area, forcing a temporary shutdown and causing delays and canceled departures. The closure occurred at 20:26 local time (18:26 UTC) and the airport reopened a few hours later, with around 35 flights diverted according to FlightRadar. The drones approached from several directions, turned their lights on and off, and disappeared after several hours. The incident was assessed as involving a capable operator with the skills, will and tools to carry out the action. The origin of the drones is under investigation. A similar drone incident forced traffic to one runway at Oslo Airport.
