Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Greenlandic counterpart Vivian Motzfeldt requested a White House meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance to address Arctic and bilateral issues. Vance asked to join and host the meeting. Rasmussen said the purpose is to move the discussion into a meeting room for direct, face-to-face dialogue. Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen will meet NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte with Motzfeldt to discuss Arctic security. Rutte said the alliance is working on "the next steps" to bolster Arctic security. Diplomats say some NATO members have floated a possible new mission, but no concrete proposals exist.
