Ricardo Pietreczko eliminated Dave Chisnall from the PDC World Championship despite Chisnall hitting 11 180s. Chisnall suffered from double trouble, missing a match dart in the final set after a 113 finish and a missed double 16 for a potential 143 checkout. Pietreczko did not hit a single 180 but averaged 88.58 to Chisnall's 88.15 and won three consecutive legs to close out the match. Motomu Sakai, a crowd favourite with an exuberant walk-on and dance moves, lost 3-0 to Sweden's Andreas Harrysson after beating Thibault Tricole. Ryan Searle averaged over 98 in a straight-sets win over Brendan Dolan. James Hurrell upset Dirk van Duijvenbode 3-2.
