Danish PM Frederiksen speaks to NATO chief after drone flights
"There can be no doubt that everything points to this being the work of a professional actor when we are talking about such a systematic operation in so many locations at virtually the same time. This is what I would define as a hybrid attack using different types of drones,"
"This is worrying, and we are treating the situation with the utmost seriousness both in terms of detecting and neutralising these drones,"
"We agreed that NATO would work with Denmark on what we can do together to ensure safety and security,"
"NATO Allies and Denmark are working together on how we can ensure the safety and security of our critical infrastructure."
Multiple drone flights over several Danish airports and an airbase in Jutland caused disruptions and followed a similar incident at Copenhagen Airport earlier in the week. Denmark's prime minister communicated with NATO chief Mark Rutte and said NATO would work with Denmark to ensure safety and security. Rutte said NATO treats the flights very seriously and is working to protect key infrastructure. Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen described the incidents as a systematic hybrid attack likely carried out by a professional actor using different types of drones. Authorities are treating the situation with utmost seriousness while investigations continue and no perpetrator has been identified.
