High foot traffic at Burrow Beach over the weekend led Fingal County Council to implement additional resources for crowd and litter management. Crews utilized tractors for cleanup operations, collecting significant litter around bins. More bins were added for public use, and gardaí worked with organizations to manage alcohol consumption and antisocial behavior. Public facilities, including restrooms, required attention due to vandalism. Lifeguards and security personnel were on duty, while parking and litter wardens monitored compliance. The council reminded visitors to respect fellow beachgoers during the good weather.
Fingal County Council put a number of additional resources in place around the beach to manage the huge influx of people over the weekend and with that, the amount of litter that was left behind.
Council crews were seen using two large tractors to handle the cleanup operation on Sunday morning, with large quantities of litter being stacked in and around bins on Burrow Beach for collection.
Gardaí, working alongside the National Transport Authority (NTA) and local off licences, were on hand to ensure alcohol was confiscated and to manage any antisocial behaviour and the size of the crowds.
Fingal County Council has issued reminders throughout the weekend to "enjoy our Fingal beaches in this beautiful weather but remember to have respect for other beach users."
