Colm Dineen, 31, of Cappaghmore near Balledehob, Co Cork, is charged with the theft of 18 cows valued at around €30,000. He is also charged with three additional counts of cattle theft dating back to 2017, with those offences totalling more than €50,000 in livestock value. An additional charge relates to trespassing and theft at a property near Rosscarbery. The 18 animals comprise six Friesian bulls and 12 Friesian heifers stolen from a farm in the Lakelands area of Skibbereen. The theft occurred on the night of Monday, November 24, and the livestock belonged to Brian Lawlor. Dineen appeared before Macroom District Court.
