Citywest violence: Gardai release bodycam footage as part of investigation
"A total of 17 people are due in court today charged with public order offences after a second night of violence at the Citywest Hotel complex in west Dublin last night. A further five teenagers, aged under the age of 18, were released and will be dealt with under the Youth Diversion Programme, which aims to prevent children from entering into the criminal justice system."
"Four gardaí were taken to hospital over the course of the two nights, a spokesperson confirmed this morning. All four received treatment and have since been released. One member of the police force was struck in the head with a bottle, while another sustained and arm and shoulder injuries while carrying out their duties in a second night of unrest. In a rare move, gardaí today published a video appeal to the public on their social media platforms."
