""The voter has spoken. We had hoped for a different outcome but we stuck to our guns,""
""Millions of Dutch people have turned the page today. They have said goodbye to the politics of negativity, of hate,""
""traditional values.""
Provisional results with more than 98% counted show the far-right PVV and pro-European D66 tied at 26 seats each. PVV declined sharply from 37 seats in 2023 while D66 nearly tripled its representation, gaining 17 seats compared with two years ago. Exit polls and forecasts varied, with IPSOS projecting D66 slightly ahead and ANP showing D66 leading by a few thousand votes. Wilders acknowledged a disappointing outcome. D66 leader Rob Jetten, 38, emphasized housing and education and suggested a political shift away from negativity and hate. The Christian Democrats under Henri Bontenbal offered stability and "traditional values."
