Carrick-On-Shannon crowned winner of 2025 Tidy Towns
"Along with the overall winner award for 2025, the group from have taken home a prize of €15,000, as the competition's highest scoring entrant. Carrick-On-Shannon was a finalist for the overall award having been named Ireland's Tidiest Small Town. A record 929 entries were made to this year's Tidy Towns competition. Along with a number of special awards and medals, there were also winners announced across the main category awards, with those winners making up the other three finalists for the overall prize of Ireland's Tidiest Town."
"Rosscarbery, Co Cork was named as Ireland's Tidiest Village. The award for Ireland's Tidiest Large Town went to Dalkey, Co Dublin. The final category award, for Ireland's Tidiest Large Urban Centre, went to Tralee, Co Kerry."
"Minister for Rural and Community Development Dara Calleary was in attendance for the ceremony, as was the Department's Minister of State Jerry Buttimer. Award winners were also greeted on stage to collect their awards by SuperValu managing director Luke Hanlon. Proceedings in Croke Park's Hogan Suite were led by host and MC Marty Morrissey."
