Dublin Airport expects around 110,000 passengers on Sunday, December 21, and around 115,000 on Sunday, December 28, the busiest days before and after Christmas respectively. About 1.8 million passengers are expected over the festive period, a roughly 22% increase (approximately 330,000 passengers) compared with the same period last year. An average of about 96,000 passengers per day is expected between December 18 and January 5, with the seven days before Christmas bringing roughly 350,000 arrivals. Terminals will feature the airport's biggest ever festive entertainment programme with over 40 schools, choirs and local acts performing through to Christmas Eve. Travellers no longer need to remove liquids or electronics from hand luggage when going through security screening.
