"The Paris-Berlin and Vienna night trains operated by OBB (Austrian Railways) in partnership with SNCF Voyageurs and DB (German Railways) was launched to great fanfare in December 2023."
OBB confirmed that the Paris–Berlin and Paris–Vienna night train services will end on December 14, 2025 because the French government has withdrawn financial support. The Ministry of Transport in Paris informed SNCF Voyageurs that government service contracts for the Vienna–Paris and Berlin–Paris night trains will be discontinued for 2026. The services were launched in December 2023 and operated by OBB in partnership with SNCF Voyageurs and DB. Launch aid was provided in 2024 and 2025 but will not be paid in 2026. OBB and DB said they will not shoulder the deficits alone, provoking anger among rail user groups.
