Braintree woman seriously injured in fall from scenic White Mountains overlook

Meghan Mason fell approximately 50 to 100 feet while hiking on Crawford Path in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Rescuers were alerted at around 3:30 p.m. and found her in a precarious position. She was carried down and transported to Littleton Regional Healthcare with serious injuries. Another hiker, Thomas Pratt, also required assistance after suffering a medical condition while hiking with family. Emergency crews intervened, allowing him to descend safely after rest and rehydration.
Meghan Mason was hiking on a spur trail on Crawford Path when she reportedly slipped and fell between 50 to 100 feet, officials said.
Conservation officers learned of the incident shortly before 3:30 p.m. and found Mason in a 'precarious location' on 'rugged' terrain.
Rescue efforts resulted in Mason being carried down to the trailhead, arriving at 7:10 p.m., where she was transported to Littleton Regional Healthcare.
73-year-old Pembroke man Thomas Pratt was also helped down the trail after suffering a medical condition while hiking with his grandsons.
