Bite House / BIOMA
"On the outskirts of Balcarce, a mountain range is interrupted by a precise void: a sharp cut in the slope, a missing piece that becomes a signal. The house takes this 'bite' as its starting point and organizes all its material around that absence."
"More than an isolated object, it is conceived as a device for viewing: a heavy roof that aligns with the silhouette of the mountain range and establishes, in the foreground, a new geometry from which to reinterpret the landscape."
Bite House, designed by BIOMA, is located on the outskirts of Balcarce where a mountain range is interrupted by a precise void—a sharp cut in the slope. The architectural design takes this absence as its fundamental starting point, organizing all material around this void. Rather than functioning as an isolated object, the house operates as a viewing device. A heavy roof aligns with the mountain range's silhouette while establishing a new geometry in the foreground. This approach allows the structure to reinterpret and frame the surrounding landscape through intentional spatial relationships.
