Microsoft has redesigned the Bing Webmaster Guidelines section to align with the new Bing Webmaster Tools interface. The updated guidelines now explicitly address how Bing discovers, crawls, indexes, evaluates, and surfaces content across Bing search, Copilot, and grounding API results. The revised introduction emphasizes three key benefits of compliance: indexing and ranking eligibility, grounding results and citations, and sustained visibility with qualified traffic. Non-compliance consequences have been clarified to include reduced visibility in Bing search, reduced eligibility for grounding experiences, or complete delisting. The previous version focused primarily on traditional search indexing and ranking optimization.
